Do any of you notice that some people come on here and ask people that don't know what they're talking about questions that are kind of important? I was on section ''pets'' the other day. I mean...call the vet. They went through college for a reason. Now it seems they're not making any money because people come on here instead and ask complete idiots. Lol! I would not do that.

Some people have come on here wondering if it's okay that their dog is bleeding from it's butt. That's serious. They're just too cheap to go to the vet in the first place.

I don't think the vets would lose too much money because of Yahoo Answers. People just want to know if it's something serious or just something they can take care of at home before they go and have the vet tell them what they could learn from here.

wow... ok, i do agree people are idiots to be asking morons for answers to their important problems... however, i'm not really concerned about the financial stability of the vets because all pet owners have miraculously decided to find home remedies for their dogs' genital problems (i swear it was in a question i just read) rather than taking them to the doctor, most pet owners i know would never risk their pet's life by being that stupid, so they're probably asking on here, as well as going to the vet... and if not, so be it, there are too many pets in the world anyway
also, i don't really think you should be bitching about people racking up points for answering "huh?" to the stupid, incomprehensible, poorly worded and grammatically-contructed questions, while at the same point bragging about racking up points for wasting your time reporting the idiots. i think you're taking this a little too seriously...

Why would you ask 'just anyone' for answers to anything? Because everyone wants something for free! If you can get an answer or information without having to go to a professional and pay for the answer, then of course you're going to try to save some $$$$. Of course, if it was life-threatening I would go straight to the pro!
I think that asking others for their advice on relationships and life topics is a great idea as long as we look at the advice given with an open mind. and don't take the weirdos too seriously!!!

I agree with both arguments. In some of the sexual health sections (such as pregnancy) people do not have a doctor, or someone to turn to, so they come on here. Because in most cases, trips to medical persons are costly, people want to know if their problem is serious enough to go to a doctor about. Some people just don't have the money

That's true. There is no way to know for sure if the information is accurate. I ask personal questions mostly, not related to health. On the other hand a very a eloquent answer always sounds convincing, whether it is true or not.
