59 to 70 degrees and that is fahrenheit not celcius lol

I would not store vcr tapes in a hot environment. I lived in Florida and had vcr tapes stored in a closet (I did not use them). After a few years of being there I found that they had mold on them and I threw them out. If you have data on these tapes that you value, you might consider transferring that data to a cd. (Humidity has a lot to do with it.) Tapes and paperback books should be stored in a dry environment for the best results, and try to store in a part of the house that does not get the most sun.

Room Temperature, never leave them in a car, especially in the summer time.
Books can handle a bit more heat, but best if stored at room temperature, or lower. Heat can be killer to almost everything.
