My friend married a guy from mexico that did'nt even speak english. She eventually learned some spanish he decided to get his papers for him. He was very abusive towards her and even went to jail twice for beating her. He would stay out all night with his friends and she would call me crying. He told her that he drank alot because he missed his family in mexico. So she went forward with all the legal aspects so that he could get a good job and go back forth to see his family. It was a long process and 2 days after the citizenship came in she found him in bed with latin female at his friends house. She went home crying and called me as usual. Now he's gone with the latin girl and they are getting a divorce. Was it just the American dream or what should she do?

She should have left him a long time ago, the only reason he probably acted like he was interested in her was because he wanted to get to the U.S. I know... everyone below is gonna act in out rage because suddenly "i'm so racist" but its true... my dad did it to my mom, he married her, came to this country and left her... he doesn't deny it and he's never said a word to me in my entire life.. The wonderful "American Dream" as you call it is enough to make people do things, that are a bit, wrong... She just needs to find someone else, even if she "loves" him, he doesn't love her, he isn't interested in her, she needs to move on.

She was used!!!!!

She needs a friend right now, so be supportive, but help her to see that she was just a way for him to be legal. She should get an attorney and make sure she can keep everything that was hers!

how the hell did she fall for him in the first place if they couldn't speak a common language?!! he sounds like a horrible guy and i can't believe she was so naive to even want to know him. this should be a wake up call for your friend, she needs to get real and find some one who at least respects her and isn't abusive! good riddance what did she expect anyway!!!

He just needed a way to become a citizen. She should have figured that out from his actions toward her.

He used her, he really did not love her, some illegal Mexicans pay up to 10, 000 dollars for an American woman to marry them and help them get their papers, that Mexican that got his papers for free.i guess you could say he con her, Just let her know that it's not her fault, tell her not to feel bad, what goes around comes around, tell her to leave it in Gods hands and with in time she will find a good man...............................................................unless she wants to take him to court maybe she can get some justice.
