you can go to a 4 year college and major in music -- you can use that B.A. in music
then if you want you can also go to music production school later
note: with a B.A. in music you can do a lot of things, you can also go to grad school and get a masters' degree to become a music teacher

In my opinoin, you should always get a degree first so you have something to fall back on if music school doesn't work out. You may check into getting a degree from like University of Phoenix online or something like that so you can graduate quickly. You should be able to graduate in about two years with an online degree. Remember to check out internships at radio stations and such to get your foot in the door in the music industry. Good Luck!!

Go to school first. If your music career doesn't work you will have something to fall back on later. You won't regret it.

I think it will be better if you know what really you want. Degree is not only to get a job but will give you a status!!!
