Didn't Napster get shut down for doing the same thing Limewire is doing now..... file sharing?

Before you download Limewire they'll make you agree to the statement that you won't be using Limewire for illegal filesharing. It doesn't stop anybody, but its their insurance. I don't believe Napster had that.

Napster is back up again, plus Limewire is called a p2p (peer to peer) it helps computers connect and share files, Napster was giving away free music.

Napster still exists...Limewire and Mp3 rocket have somekind of policies that clear them of charges...I think it has something to do with them saying they only promote protected material for purchasing but that you may find other files to which you are totally at fault for downloading if you are pirating.

Napster is still around I have it. They file share I'm confused, I have been having problems with Napster.

Edit- You know what? They need to leave limewire. Can we have some things free? It's enough that we have the suckiest gas prices ever! Leave us alone! Lol!!

Limewire, MP3 Rocket, BearShare, Emule... its just a current fad, they will all come and go its probably the usage agreements... and the fact that it might just not be there turn yet to be sued...

yeah flie sharing is technically legal, just not music sharing which limewire holds no responsibility for.

no acctually it didn't...it could've been shut down because it was illegal but i have a friend and she pays for napster

limewire isnt well know but dont tell cuz i use it all the time :)

it didnt get shut down.. it just became a pay site after they were sued.
