your baby need to have either breast milk or formula for the first year period. That means wait a month before the soy milk. The fastest way for your kid to get food allergies that are preventable is to introduce something in their diet too quickly. Technically, by one year, your babies stomach can handle cow milk or soy milk.
Though formula has cow milk and soy milk ingredients, they have gone through at least some type of process so your baby can better handle them.

Why can't you give him milk? My son had cow milk starting at 6 months old. I would never give a child soy, but that's just because I won't have soy in my house. It won't hurt him unless he is lactose intolerant, start off slow by mixing it with some of his formula to see if he has a bad reaction, then decide if he should have it or not. By the way, my son is almost two years old and as healthy as can be.

No. He still needs formula and/or breastmilk. It's not so much the fact that he may have problems digesting the soy milk but rather that he still needs the iron and DHA and ARA (found in breast milk and some brans of formula).
You don't have long to go before his Dr will give the ok for cows milk but I certainly would double check about the soy with your Dr. after 12 months of age.

Why do you want to give soy milk, right now breast milk or formula is the best thing for your baby, and you only have a month or so before you can change

First off, is you baby lactose intolerant? If not, yes, you can give your baby soy. Second of all, my baby has been drinking whole milk and 2% milk since he was about 7 months. He still drinks the baby formula but as long as you baby can tolerate the milk give him either one (in my opinion). Just calm down.

Soy milk, like the kind adults drink lacks some of the fats that babies need for brain development, ask your pediatrician if you should be giving soy milk in lieu of formula.

I am the mother of 4 and if I was unable to afford formula for my children I would give them milk. As long as you warm it up it is okay to give them. By 11 months old they are eating cereal and jar food. Milk will not do any harm. You will be giving it when the child is 1 year anyway.

I actually started weaning a couple of my children onto milk at 11 months. I'd mix it with their formula, gradually increasing the amount of milk over the course of the month so that when their 1st birthday came around they had transitioned slowly to cow's milk.

Yes. Both of my children had allergies to milk and they drank soy milk. Check with the pediatrician first.
