Been trying for so long to find focus on my future, and I finally had a chance at it and now its not working out as I had hoped. I have to make big decisions about Universities soon and I feel so lost. I guess I just want to know, if anyone out there is having the same troubles I am. And is this normal ..to feel like your living in the unknown.

my answer to you is that with each step you take in life a lesson is learned, and with each mistake you make, you achieve growth. Life is a wonderful adventure, so don't be afraid to explore it. When you believe you can, you'll discover that even though the world is not easy, faith can lift you and give you wings you never knew you had.... so my dear don't ever EVER feel discouraged and ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOURSELF and your DREAMS

Hate to say it sweets but you are going to feel lost pretty much the rest of your life. Any big decision is going to weigh on you. I still dont know what I want to do when I grow up, I want to go back and get another degree and I am 30, I already have 3. The best advice I can give is listen to the people who love you the most, like mom and dad, they want whats best for you and think about it, how will I feel at a college near, far, small, big, think of everything possible, you will make the right decision and if you dont, the best thing about life is that you can always change your mind!;)

Good Luck with that one. I'm 56 and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

The good news is that I have done so many things from teaching school, elementary and adult, lab tech, first woman power house operator, secretary, pharmacy tech, baker and cake decorator and restaurant owner. I have finally come to the conclusion that I like owning a restaurant, serving people and being my own boss. If that's as close as I come to knowing what I want to do, I'm fine with that.

It's been a good trip and I've learned so much, I probably would have been very bored if I had settled on one profession. Don't sweat it, you'll decide when the time is right and don't get discouraged.

Good Luck

Don't be discouraged! Searching for Universities makes anyone feel lost. It's a normal feeling. Everything will click into place. Don't give up. Even after I was at Uni I changes my studies four or five times. It just takes a while. Best regards :)

It sounds like you are at a transition point in your life and you are having to make some assessments without knowing for sure how things will work out for you.

I would remind you that if you find a school that you think will be a good one for you and it isn't a good one for you, you can change to a different one. Unless you are making some life-long commitment -- and there is only one of those I can think of -- you will have chances to refine your choices and to try something else.

Be brave. Trust yourself and give yourself a chance. The way you wrote your question shows that you have a good mind and you are obviously applying it to making a good life for yourself. Your life seems to be in excellent hands.

Yeah it is really normal. I always ask my counslor, why we have to make such big disisions at such a young age? And If you think about it, most of the kids that make these dicisions, screw up. Dont worry, do your homework, do what they tell you to do to get into certain colleges and universities and things will work out, especially if you care this much. If you care and you do what ya gotta do, everything will be fine. If you think everything is fine and dont do the work, you'll deffinitly screw up. If you think everything is not ok, I gotta do some much more than what I'm doing to achive this, this and this everything will be fine cause your doing what ya gotta do.

Life is like this. Why you are growing impatient at the threshold of your attempts to get admitted into a suitable university. It is not the university that ensures success in life, it is your steadfastness and unity of purpose that determines the results of your actions. Have a strong mind frame and unshaken faith in God the Almighty, you will get the real strength and the answers to all of your questions.

You're not the only one to feel that way. We are just following what seems to be the 'best' method from the society to determine our future. What if we don't live for so long? Isn't it a waste of time doing stuff that are irrelevant? As for me, i am blessed with supporting parents who accepts my life's decisions. My advice: Just follow your heart....Ask yourself, is this what you really want?....and....What do you see yourself doing in 5 years from now?

yeah, it's normal to not know where your life is going. try talking to your guidance counselor about what's goin on, they are trained to help you in that kind of thing. also, if you want to or trust them enough, talk to your parents about what your feeling, and although they are gonna tell u what they think is best for you, they'll have your back, no matter what...they're your parents, and they love you. just don't lose your hope, no matter what you do...it took me till about now to really have it figured out what i want to do..and i'm almost 26, most people have a career by now

good luck
