Very Good question and there were so many it makes it difficult to answer. In modern times Ronald Reagan boosted the economy which was in total shambles after Carter and lasted for 20 yrs and still not bad, Eliminated Russia as a superpower ( we are only one now). He was so loyal to America and didnt need to mudsling. His sppeches were positive and uplifting and he made you feel good about America. That is why he won 49 out of 50 states when he was re-elected.

Bill Clinton, He took over for two morons that coind the phrase "Let the Good Times Roll" with federal spending. Bush jr. and Regan. He went from a huge deficit due to the Kuwait in which we got screwed to huge spending on defense and intellengence to executive perks and kickbacks to friends an contributors of the rebublican party. To a few trillion in the black. And another moron name Bush stole the election and wiped it out in a single week. Damn those republicans now how to make money disappear.

George Washington. But I wonder how he would have done in todays political climate? He handled war well, and handled political opposition of the day, well. But today's snake in the grass is a different animal. I doubt any of our founding fathers would fair will surrounded by the modern day skunks in Washington, and the media. Lincoln would be branded "hitler", or a "looney" (he suffered from Depression, you know)?

But my choice is George Washington. He was the man.
