Like I never understood who came up with this pretty or ugly thing.And how come there are levels of pretty like cut or pretty then sexy or beautiful.Help.

but i did hear that the people who our society find pretty are actually the ones with the most symetrical face

These words are very subjective. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would rather be thought of as smart or elegant or hot than pretty or cute.Sometimes people use the term beautiful to mean more of a total package that includes factors other than physical beauty whereas pretty or cute is never used this way.To me what makes someone beautiful is the sum total of who they are, not just the physical.

Why the media of course! Well scientifically it is symmetry of the face but personally I think that its all in the flaws. There are levels of beauty based on levels of attraction and aesthetic qualities. Pretty is acceptable for two girls to use and it means they are attractive, cute is not so good, you might be attractive but they aren't particularly attracted to you, sexy is mostly based on lust, beautiful is the best...but if you speak english you should know all of this. Anyway its all just opinion.

a popular study shows that symetry in one's appearance makes them more appealing or "pretty". It makes it easy for the eyes to see a face quickly. Discerning a 'face' is our first learning experience and we are predispositioned to find a face at everything we look at. When a face is less symetrical, we have to use more cognitive abilities to piece that face together to recognize a face. As we grow older however, we get so good at this ability, that 'pretty' and 'ugly' really have little meaning unless it's a severe deformity.

OMG! yesterday i was wondering the same exact thing! why is one person prettier because her nose is smaller? why is one uglier because she has big eyebrows? I've always wanted to know where the whole idea of who's pretty, and who's not came from!

Beauty comes from the inside out. some of the most physically pretty people can be nasty people but someone who is not "perfect" can be beautiful because their heart is so sweet!
