You have to maintain your strength even though someone is attacking you. It took practice and experience for me to do it, but mainly, you have to have self-confidence. If the person putting you down is wrong, don't let it bother you, and stand up for yourself because the other person is just being a bonehead for whatever reason. If the put down is in any way true, learn to accept the truth and/or try to fix it, but admit that they may be right, but you don't need their criticism because you are already aware. Hope this helps.

Knowing your value gives you plenty to say when someone attacks something about you. The first instinct is to attack them but that is not productive. Say something like whatever I may that is not perfect make me unique. I can handle my shortcomings and go on in life just hope you can do the same. Those who need to pick on others are just trying to hid something about themselves. Being unable to give praise is a sure sign of low self esteem because people who believe in themselves do not need to put down others.

Smile and just be you. People hate it when they cant get to you. Tell them to grow up and that they must feel really bad about themselves to be putting you down. I myself cant do that I am a hot head but it has got me no where but mad. Prayer works to.

Just smile and brush it off...they are not what they are saying...be more confident...and a time will come, you don't need to be like them and put them down...you'll get to prove you're not what they say and they're are just cowards saying faults in others and not theirs.
All the best!

Just ignore them. Their self-esteem feeds off attention, which isn't much for self-esteem anyway. Your activities are independent of their reverse pity-fest.

Here's a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."
So just say, "You have no right to say that. Your opinion means nothing to me." Don't worry about hurting them. They didn't worry about hurting you, did they?
