I thought I answered this but maybe not, you will be ok. I had a similiar experience with a tetnus shot and the ER nurse said fever, swelling, pain, itching, and fevers are normal reactions to the materials in the tetnus med in the shot. It can last up to a week. You will be fine. I know, I panicked too as mine swelled to egg size and hurt alot but it did go completely away between 5-6 days. You will be ok. Try to ice the injection site, moist heat the rest of the arm, make sure you use your arm, don't baby it, and lastly take an anti-inflammatory, that's what the ER nurse told me.
PS after seeing the other replies, the only way they can damage your arm is by hitting a vein or blood vessel or nerve which is very rare. I'm a cancer survivor and had a vein hit with a shot and I'm fine. You will be fine, relax. Try not to think about the shot pain, it will be gone in another day or so.

Normally, when you get a shot like that, it is going to hurt for a few days. Think of it like this, it should feel like you have a bad bruise. This feeling will go away within a few days just like if you were to get punched in the arm. If the pain is beyond what you would feel from that, then contact your doc... However, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Cheese and Rice! Calm Down! Tetanus shots DO hurt for a while, and trust me, the doctor wouldn't give it to you if he wasn't 100% sure it was good for you. Your arm will be just fine, and you'll stay safe! Be happy you have health care! :)

tetanus shots do hurt for a few days, but it does go away without any long term effects. That shot is good for 10 years, too.

Unless you have a reaction to the shot you will be fine. If you were going to have a reaction you would of had it by now so don't worry about it. It is not uncommon for your arm to be sore for a few days.

The risk from the shot is much less than the risk from getting tetanus (aka lockjaw). Besides, unless your parents were loonies, you've already had a tetanus shot.

no it won't permanently damage your arm...the pain is your body's natural reaction to having a needle stuck in it. try moving your arm a lot and don't keep it stiff, that will help "work" out the soreness
