We view birds, fish, lions, and bears as animals, nonhumans, so through an animal's point of view are we the animals or still the humans?

A dog lives in a "dogs" world and sees all other species as different creatures that can be a source of threat, a friendly alien or a source of food to it. In the same way, all other living organisms perceive their world as "theirs" and other species pose as a threat, a friendly alien or a source of food. Humans should not be an exception to them. However, depending on their relationship with this particular alien we call human, animals look at us as giants or huge hulks who can be any of the three main sources mentioned above. A pet sees familiar humans as friends, and become very suspicious and careful in the presence of other humans that are not familiar to them, but due to past friendly experience with us, they rarely look at us as threats unless attacked by us. Wild animals of prey do not care who you are when they are hungry - you could be a big shot among your people, but to a hungry African tiger you are a potential meal. Non-domestic or untamed animals who are not mainly meat-eaters perceive us as a source of threat to their lives until they are approached friendly and feel secure in our presence, then the will begin to see us as a caring food provider and protector.
In a word, we cannot be sure what goes on in the animals' minds; we can only speculate and / or deduce information on how they look at us. (Do we look like gods to ants, for example, who can - with a wipe of our palm - destroy an ant's kingdom that took them a long time to build? Just wondering). And, not until the human brain becomes one with some sort of a universal consciousness that it can give more accurate answers to such questions

Animals recognize smells. A cat will recognize its owner and have an understanding of that person based on their historical relationship - my cat runs from my brother b/c he used to chase it when he was younger, but will be friendly towards me b/c I feed him. I heard (on some TLC documentary) that pets view their human "owners" as they would any other animal with whom they have a relationship - be it another cat, dog, etc. We are not really different.

Out in the wild, some animals are predators and will try to hunt us if they are hungry. Others will attack if they feel threatened. Yet others will remain curious or indifferent. On the secluded Galapagos Islands, Darwin wrote in his journal that the animals were interested in him, albeit unafraid as they had no prior experiences with humans. Other animals have grown afraid of humans b/c of poor treatment. This is no different than other relationships b/w animals.

I guess that all adds up to the fact that animals just do their own thing and we happen to be around them - we being other creatures on the planet. I don't think they "classify" is using a complicated taxonomy system but I do think that animals recognize people they like, dislike and can judge how to react to certain people.

The monkeys may laugh at us in not having a tail.
The calf may tell the mother cow that all humans are thieves that they milk the cows completely leaving nothing for the calf to suck.
Like that each would view us differently

As other animals. I'm not saying that we are but in their point of view we are. they don't know the difference between human and animal. some may view us as a threat, predator, or as food, prey.

Those big stupid goobers who sometimes shoot at them while intoxicated. Or, those idiots who ride by cow pastures and :::MOO::
They may even view us as the ones who take away all their trees so we can have paper to write nonsense on. Maybe they just think we're EVIL

I think it depends. My cats look at me as the food and attention giver. or maybe someone they view me as someone who is as lazy as they are. Wild animals might see us as food or the enemy. It's a good question. i wonder how they see us? as far as we know animals don't have the intellect to reason or think so they don't know the term "human" but they obviously know we're not another animal. maybe they see us as......? dunno. never thought of it before. Great question.

probably many different things
part of his pack
leader of the pack
provider
protector
terrorizing them
taking care of them
something to take care of
if the animals could talk, which some day they may, we will find out!
