This is a pretty common rumor. But Disney does not have plans to build a new park in Texas. Disney does buy land quiet often, with plans to either sell it later or use it for a property, like a Disney Vacation Club.

Disney is also aware of this rumor and they claim if they were to build a new theme park in the U.S. it would not be located in Texas. The reason, Disney would take a big risk putting a new park in this location because it would pull guests from both parks, since it is directly in the middle. They would likely lose attendance in both Disney World and Disneyland if a new park were to go in Texas.

Nope. They're opening a new section in the Tokyo one and the next planned park is Hong Kong, followed possibly by one in Singapour. That's all they have planned right now, and this comes from my husband who has been working in Tokyo for a year, and will be sent to hong kong in a few months after the July 15th opening in Tokyo. They send him to all the new locations and, believe me, he'd let me know if there were to be a park in Houston! We'd both be happy to be closer to home in the US for a little while!

No, there was a rumor circulating several years ago that Disney had purchased the area of land that includes where the Renaissance Festival is held every year. But, it was just a rumor.
