The family is the basic unit of a society. That means they are the smallest possible unit, and they are also the building blocks. The next largest unit would be the village, which is a small group of families, and several villages would form a clan, or a tribe. Other units could be the various religions, nationalities, politics, etc. Their influences depend in each case on how numerous they are and how powerful they are within their own particular group.
Hope this is helpful.

You answer your own question every day you walk out your front door. Family is very important but should not consume your life. There are clubs, cults everywhere that would say you are their family, but you have the choice. Their influences are appalling; rape, self sacrifice, enslavement. Most I've ever checked have been on the dark side so be care full of what you look for.

Churches, clubs, neighborhoods, political parties, social circles - the list is endless, but you should have the idea by now.
