any personal experiences and what brought you to promise yourself that you'd wait

I did...I took a True Love Waits vow when I was 12, and got married when I was nineteen. I've now been married for four years, and my husband and I both saved ourselves for each other on our wedding night. It was very special, and from popular opinion today, I think I have several advantages. 1) I've never slept with anybody else, so I'm not thinking that he or I are lacking; 2) Neither of us has to worry about STDs; and 3) it's fun trying new things together, and not one of us is more experienced than the other, so we learn all the time.

Well, I'm 18. I guess you can still consider me a teenager. I'm a virgin, and I was raised in a home and in a religion that taught me that sex is a sacred act between a man and his wife, and your body should be saved for your spouse only. I promised myself I'd wait because I thought about how I'd feel if I were to present myself to a man who's pure for only me, and I were the one who had slept with other guys. How would my husband feel??? So, I want to give him the same gift he is going to give me on our wedding night!!

Because that's the way it's supposed to be. I stayed a virgin all the way through Highschool, and I'm still a virgin because I'm not married yet. I decided not to marry a man who isn't a virgin too. The way my mom used to put it was "do you want to give that special person a used gift? you wouldn't like getting someting used, and this is just as important"

Because I don't see the big deal in why not. I did not make a formal promise. If a person loves me then they can wait. Also I can't go on the pill because of the health risk.

I really wish I had waited til marriage to have sex. I've lost a part of me I cannot get back, and I would have loved to give it to my future husband, but it's too late!
If you are waiting, good for you, don't let anyone influence your decision to respect yourself!
You deserve to be pure if you want to be and believe me, you would eventually, if not right away regret it if you lower your standard to some hottie just for kicks.

I was one of those teenagers. I was terrified of disappointing my mother and saw first hand several girls in my school that were pregnant and having children, fatherless, jobless, and decided I wasn't going to end up like them.
