They're brine shrimp-they even sold leashes and items in a catalog to take them out and play w/ them on land.

Good old sea monkeys!! I remember them.....

I was expecting little friends with faces and crowns and tiaras and all I got was bloody minute crustaceans

The disappointment was great

LOL I have never had any sea monkeys. I wanted one when I was little till my dad said what they really were.
You gotta admit even though they are a ripoff the company who sold/sells them made some good money off of brine shrimp LOL

Now they got some new thing called triclops(?) that sells at wal mart! LOL

They stink too! they're all dead in the water, festering and your little 8-year-old self crying. I also tried to look at them with my X-Ray Specs, and couldn't see any thing in the inside just regular stuff through a tiny hole, then there were the Revolutionary War Soldiers -tiny red and blue plastics lumps that 2/3s of which wouldn't even stand up. Let's all get together and file a class action lawsuit and when we win all get 38 cents a month for the rest of our lives, and is this not the longest run-on sentence you've ever seen.

I don't remember the leashes. I remember the family of cartoon sea monkeys sitting on furniture, though. They had human faces, with crown like heads.

I raised Sea Monkeys and thought they were really cool. Eventually they all died and I was very sad because I didn't know what I had done wrong. I've been scarred by the experience and never tried to raise them again.

And they've been pulling this prank on American youngsters for at least a half a century. Yes, I'm old, and I had sea monkeys, too.

Ya, they always showed them wearing crowns and clothes in the ads. Ends up they had no fashion sense at all!

I felt just like LadyRebecca above.

forget about the fancy leashes and other assorted crap and they are perfect educational tool for children, that is why they are sold, arent they? If they die, then that is a lesson, an important one , too
