why are the gov. schools in the U. S failing?

Because they are government schools. The aim is to mold the children into good servents of their government and the prevailing social order, not free thinking individualists with tremendous intellectual curiosity and mental acuity.

If you want to know why, just take a look at Bush's "no child left behind," plan, which really actually leaves many, many children behind. If schools don't get the funding they need they will only keep failing and getting worse. I don't understand why the government is playing this silly game with students, because we are the future!

Like everything else in this world you need money to run an effective school. I regretfully inform you that George Bush jr has declared that schools are less important than war, immigration, oil,and government corruption. New educational policy "Every Child that Can't Afford Private School Gets Left Behind" so they can get sent to war to die for oil profits.

Because they are underfunded. And because of "No Child Left Behind" teachers are just teaching to the tests. This law is just a big giveaway to corporations that sell overpriced tests to schools. It's leaves less money for extra-curricular act ivies and elective classes.
