I was actually 43 weeks when I delivered my first son... My origanal due date was feb 25 and I had my son march 18th I switched doctors half way thru my pregnacy and my measuring one week would be less and then the next week it would be more. They finally gave me a ultrasound march 17th and apologized and rushed me into be induced.

the placenta actually stops functioning and being useful to the baby at 42 weeks, so the doctor will not let you go past that. I suppose you could be pregnant for longer than that, but the baby would be in danger, and you woudl also run the risk of infections and stuff

Usually you carry a baby for 9 months give a week or 2. After that the Dr usually induces labor.

I've heard of it lasting 10 months before being taken and the baby still alive.

40 weeks thats full term..but doctors wont let you go over 42 weeks
