my son is half black and he came home really confused about what had happened. So my question is are East Indians racist against black people or something? Im really surprised that this older man spoke to my son like that and the guy also told my son's friend that he should go ask his parents if he is allowed to play with n*****s. We live in a town in the U.S. that is predominately East Indians and I have always admired and accepted thier culture and ways but this really hurt alot.

just wated to add that this was an older man who came up to my 12 year old out of the blue for no reason and spoke like that to him. we've encountered racism before but this was different seeing that the man himself is an immigrant to this country I figured he'd be the last to act that way

PLease, don't fall in the trap yourself! The point is not that the boy is East Indian, but ignorant!
You should stress this fact to your son, so that he doesn't get a biased idea of East Indians.

Just explain to your son that some people are ignorant. He'll find out one day on his own but let him know now that not everyone is like that. Tell him how bad and wrong racisim is so he dosent grow up and become a racist hisself. Tell him if it ever happens again to stay away from thoses types of people because they are trouble.

Instead of being upset at this man you should feel sorry and sad for him. Sad because of his close mind and ignorance he is not able to see how alike and united we as humans are, we are all one specie he is blinded to see the beauty of diversity and life. Sorry, because he cannot appreciate and marvel Gods creation, he is ignorant and can't see past his mirror. It is truly a Very sad case. Learn from his actions and be thankful that YOU are open minded and YOU and your son are able to see things he will never ever be able to see.

Don't let one bad person spoil your peace. Unfortunately, this won't be the last. There are lot of racist out there. Please be strong. I don't believe all East Indian is like that. Let's just hope this world will reduce their ignorance little at a time.
