It comes from Gulliver's Travels. The Lilliputians were the little people and the Brobdingnagianss were the big people. So the word "brobdingnagian" means "huge" or "immense" or "giant".

It is from Jonathan Swift. It comes from Gulliver's Travels. It means incredibly huge. The people of Brobdignag were giants. And although they were kindly, Gulliver never could find them the least bit pretty because he could see every defect, every pore.
