It really depends on who the parents are. I'm straight, but I know my parents would be pretty cool about it if I were gay. But they would probably worry about me.
If your parents are really homophobic maybe try to bring up the topic of homosexuality with them to try to warm them up to the idea - or try to get them to consider the idea that being gay is not such a bad thing. When you decide you're ready to break the news, do whatever feels more comfortable - blurt it out at the right moment, or sit them down and tell them you need to tell them something important.
But either way - try to reassure them as best you can that you're going to be fine and have a normal life. If they're really closed-minded their first thought will probably be fear for your welfare. This could of course come out as anger. Try not to react in anger, but realize that they're scared and let them know it's gonna be okay.
Wait until you're as ready as you can be.
Good luck!

Schedule a time for all of you to sit down and talk and let them know in advance that it is serious. Tell them how much you care about them and how you really need them to be supportive in any decisions that you make in your life. If you think that you re not strong enough to do it on your own then have a trusted friend or relative to be there as a supporter. Good Luck in your situation.

There is no easy way to do it. Just sit them down and tell them the truth. The longer you hide it, the more miserable you will be. They have two choices to respond. They will either accept it, or they won't. If they love you, and they SHOULD no matter what, they will deal with it, if they don't, there are ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE in this world who will be there for you!!! Don't be afraid, tell them the truth, you won't be alone if they don't respond with love!!!

It depends how old you are. If you are 16 try to find a job and be independent. But don't leave school . Your success is in finishing your education to make a good money and stand on your own feet forever. Good luck

Just come out and tell them. They are your parents they will love you regardless, it may be hard for them at first but they will come around. Shoot they might already know. Or suspect it.
Good Luck to you!!

honey, no matter what its not gonna be an easy thing for them. just be open and honest about it. let them ask questions and be able to answer them without getting offended or upset. coming from a mother here, if my son told me he was gay, id be supportive of him, wouldnt be very happy at first...but he's my child and I love him no matter what!
