It is a weird disease. One of the famous baseball pitcher Billy Koch has it and it forced him to a retirement. No known cure exists and nobody knows what cause it. It produces a lesion in the body that produces a stringy fiber...It can be debilitating. I have only heard it in US and not in UK...
