I am not an african american myself, but I am sure most people would like that to happen. It would be a great way in showing how all races are equal and the same.

It is very unlikely because of the fact that as long as the colored races are in the minority, they will never get a majority vote. African American Candidates will have a difficult time in winning the southern states as well as most of the Midwest. Unless there is a African American candidate that has extraordinary abilities and ideas that will benefit all races, not just blacks, the odds are against this ever happening.

If Condi runs, she'd be the first. I don't want to see a Black President just for the sake of it. I want to see a Black President only if he or she is the best person for the job. Yes there are some out there, Alan Keyes for one, and Condi. I would hate to see someone like Al Sharpton, or Jessie Jackson. Colin Powell is good.

As u can tell, I am a conservative. NOT a republican, a Conservative. There is a difference. There are a few Democrat Conservatives I respect, and a lot of Liberal Republicans I dont respect.

There are more and more Black conservatives these days, and that is a good thing to see. Once Blacks learn to see thru the lies of the Democrat Party (Liberals) there will be a chance. I wholeheartedly support the views and comments of Bill Cosby.

I'm sure there will be an African American president every qualified person can run for any office and if someone is prepared with a good education, work experience and other qualities people will notice and vote for them no matter the color of their skin. For example Mr. Obama, he is one of the best rising stars in politics.

I think you mean will there ever be an African American President. The answer is there could be. I don't see it happening anytime soon though because there is still lots of prejudice in this country. I think we will have a woman President first, Hillary Clinton! She gets my vote. Read her book if you get a chance!

OHNO! IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR AN AFRICAN AMERICAN to be President. To be President, you have to be American American. That's why Arnold can't be prez, he's Austrian American. DUH!

And WHO OR what IS it?? As in "will IT ever be a African American" shouldn't it be Will there ever be AN African American President?

I hope so for many good reasons, but I'm afraid Hilary is going to be the first woman president & she doesn't have any better clue than most men in either party...A woman will be first, then an African American, not necessarrilly back to back, but maybe...
