Check the classified ads in your local newspaper. Look for a "handyman" type ad. You should be able to get one to come to your house and put your furniture together for a reasonable price.

You might also want to think about using a neighborhood college student. They can always use some extra money and might be the cheapest option.

If you live in an apartment complex, your maintainance man might be interested in a little extra money.

Good luck with your assembly project.

Of course you can! Don't put yourself down. And don't buy into that antiquated notion that women can't do that sort of thing.

Open the box. Take out the instructions and all the pieces. Check the materials list. It will list each and every piece, screw, nut and bolt. It will show you pictures of the hardware (nuts and bolts) so you can compare. Check everything off to make sure you have all the materials. (Once in a blue moon, the manufactures neglect to put in a piece. If that's the case, call the customer service number and ask them to mail you the missing piece.) Now, pour yourself a glass of wine, put on your favorite music, take a deep breath and... pick up the first piece. Read the instructions over as many times as you need in order to understand them. There is usually a telephone number on them to ask questions. You are a strong, intelligent, competent woman - YOU CAN DO THIS!

Once you've built your first piece, you'll want to go right back out and build something else. And what a great feeling it will be to have done it yourself - and not have to rely on a man!

I would offer a friend dinner if he or she can come over and help. If they are a true friend, payment wouldn't be necessary.
