No doubt about it, its Fat Apples in Berkeley. Nice thick burgers, meat is always fresh, and cooked exactly the way you want it. With cheddar on top....my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Also try their GREAT apple pie and cheese puffs.

Best burger can be found at Burger Joint on Haight St (cross st. Pierce). The burgers are made with Niman Ranch beef, no antibiotics, etc. YUM!!

Max's at Opera Plaza...no contest!
When my mom lived in the City, we tried most of San Francisco's mid-price restaurants and cafes... Max's and Welcome Home (Castro, just off Market) are the two that have the best burgers, but Max's is better.

(Try the turkey dinner at Welcome Home-it's JUST like the day after Thanksgiving)

For a gourmet burger that is so yummy it is well worth a steep price tag, go to Bob's in the Omni Hotel. It's a real steakburger.

Nation has the best burger in East Bay! There is one in Colma. The lettuce and tomato are really fresh. For me, I like it with light mayo. They open until very late at night. Go for it!!!
