Did Lt. Dan really NOT have any legs?? I'm watching the movie right now and I wanted to know...

You mean Gary Sinise who played Lt. Dan? He had legs. They edited them out. They did good, didnt they!

No Lt. Dan was played by Gary Sinesse. The actor who stars in CSI NY, he definitely has both legs.

During the Vietnam war, his legs were injured during the firefight in the jungle. Forrest carried him out of the jungle, and Lt. Dan's legs were amputated later.

We watched it again, too. My grandson loves it! He acts it out as it is playing. He is 5.
They did a great job of editing.....Gary Sinise does have legs, but Lt. Dan didn't after they were blown off in the war.

Yes, Lt. Dan really does have legs, and you can catch him each week on CSI NY. Good job hiding them in the movie though, isn't it?

Lt. Dan's legs were digitally edited out of the movie, clever was'nt it, he's played by Gary Sinese who you can also see in Ransom with Mel Gibson and C.S.I. New York on tv

Through the magic of digital imaging, they made it appear that Lt. Dan had no legs. Looks real, doesn't it?? :)

The guy who plays him really has legs. He is on CSI now. But in the movie his legs were blown off. he was just playing a part.
