the actual mileage wont vary that much,,because here,s why,,when we fill our tank,s we fill them all the way,to the top,,so it takes a while for the hand to move downward,,this leads some people to believe they are getting better mileage,,because when the hand is at the half way mark,it id going to move much faster, that at full,,and the myth about the lighter the car the better the mileage,,has some truth in it,,but it doesn't fall true for every vehicle,,for instance,,a car with a 12 gallon tank,,that already gets 35 miles to the gallon,,is not going to make that much of a difference,,but there are those who will tell you it does,,this is one of those thing,s that you have to prove to your self with the vehicle you own,,not what someone tell,s you there car will do,,hope this help,s you.

I have noticed better mileage on a full tank probably because there is less air space for the gasoline to evaporate, a full tank doesn't warm up as quickly in hot weather, and the vapor recovery system dumps back into a cooler tank for quicker condensing. Also, because there is less air space in a full tank, there is less water condensation from the cool night air to introduce water into the tank. Assuming a twenty gallon tank, the weight of the additional ten gallons of gas is negligible.

Do you mean miles per gallon? If so, a car with 1/2 a tank of gas weighs less than a car with a full tank. Lighter weight means less rolling resistance, and therefore better gas mileage

no, its the same all the time, the thing that makes us feel the different is the calibration of the fuel gauge on the 1st half and the 2nd half.
