They say the period you get while you are in the pill is a fake one. So if you continuosly take your pill and accidently get pregnant, how would you know? Would you miss your fake period even if you were still taking the pills?

bri- I am on the ring too and it works the same way as the birth control pills. The week you take it out is when you get your period, same way with the birth control pills there are different colored pills you take for that week. I just said the Pill because everyone knows what it is.

I was on BC and got pregnant. I had my period the first month i was pregnant. and the second month i missed but i was really sick so i knew something was up. Good luck, you just have to "know your own body" you know when something just isnt right.

Fake period?? There is no such thing. The pill puts you in a "fake" state of pregnancy while taking it. Once you stop taking the pill, the lining of the uterus sheds. This is not a fake...a period is a period. The pill is not 100% effective, anyone can get pregnant on the pill. Most people do not get their period when pregnant, but there are exceptions. If you think you are pregnant, you better get a test. If you dont want to get pregnant, the only 100% effective "pill" is the old fashion asprin.....hold it between your knees and dont let it drop!!

It's a "fake" period? A period is a period.

Birth control pills keep you from ovulating, true. But the seven days when you're taking the placebo pills allow your hormone levels to shift, just as they would naturally, and your uterus sheds its lining. Nothing fake about that.

If you're pregnant, you're very likely to skip your period, pill-taker or no.

(There are exceptions to every rule, of course. Some women continue to experience some period-like bleeding throughout pregnancy, and there are some pills you can take that will prevent you from getting a period for months at a time. If you got pregnant somehow in either of those cases, you'd only know by other symptoms.)

The period you get is NOT fake. What is fake, are the pills you take in the week that you get your period. They are sugar pills, thus allowing your body to have your period. It is still very important to take all of the pills, because it helps you keep track of the days, and begin the real pills ( the other 3 weeks ) , without missing any. When you get pregnant, then you will have no period at all. You would miss your period ( which is a REAL one ). And if you do not remember to take your pills every day,,,, you will eventually get pregnant, so be careful. :)

You will not have a period when you are pregnant.
You won't just miss your period, you will stop having one for the duration of your pregnancy. Following the loss of your period, the next most common symptom that would suggest you are pregnant is breast tenderness and fullness.

If you suspect you are pregnant, take a pregnancy test.
If you are pregnant, stop taking the birth control pill. It's a potent estrogen to which the baby's exposure should be limited.

Just keep taking your pills at the same time everyday and you should be fine. Although you can still get pregnant. I believe that your "false"period will still stop if you become pregnant. But, some people have a period even after they are pregnant.
So, if you are really worried that you may get pregnant.........use additional BC or don't have sex.

No matter what..crap happens and nothing is 100%

Some women have a period even the first month that they're pregnant, but it's unusual. You won't have one after the first month if you are pregnant. And by "fake" it just means that you have no unused eggs to expel, but your body feels like you do anyway.

It all depends because every womans body is different and If you are on the pill you should ask your doctor. Who is "they" by the way? You should be getting your information from the one who prescribed your birth control pill. I think that would be a safer bet for you.......

its not a fake period its a real one just its timed, once you get of birthcontrol your period usually continues at the time when you were taking BC. and if you were to get preg. on BC you would get your period even if your takening the BC. you being preg. would over power the birthcontrol, it would not cause a miscairage
