We live in a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom condo in Tempe and our bill is $132. Summers are horrible here because it's so hot and we leave our a/c on at about 76 degrees. We do have our a/c on a timer so when we're gone at work, the temp goes up to about 85 - but then about 2 hours before we are scheduled to come home, the a/c will automatically turn itself down to 76 to cool the house down. Then at night, it automatically goes up to 78 since night time isn't as hot...we find doing this saved us a lot of money. You should try it too.

I just moved here to Arizona and haven't gotten my first a/c bill yet. I lived in Cincinnati previously, however, and remember my a/c bill during the summer months getting up to $115-130 (for an apartment)! The apartment was very poorly insulated and that was running two window units as there was no central heat and air. In the other seasons, the electricity bill averaged about $70 because the gas heating was provided. When I lived in an apartment in Louisiana, the electricity bill averaged about $90 during the summer and around $60 during the other months.

Total for all utilities in my one bedroom apt this month (which is really last month) is $48.89. But as other have mentioned it is not A/C but evap cooler I keep the temp at about 70 degrees and its cheap. My last apt was utilities included so not big deal but you can shop around for an apt complex that pays the A/C bill in the summer so it doesn't break your back. If you own already I would invest in insulation, awnings, etc... Good Luck!

We have a six bedroom, four bath house. Paid $103 last month. We have great insulation. We use an evaporative cooler when possible and we have a lot of living space in the basement -- no upper story. I don't know why they build 2 story houses in this area. Basements are so much more practical.

I live too far north to need an airconditioner. It probably only gets hot enough to need one a week out of the year...so we don't bother. But we get heating bills in the winter that are pretty high...8 months a year with the furnace running.

Don't you hate people that will give you an answer like "none of your business"? Why do they even bother clicking on the question??
Anyway, mine is $180.
