If she was marrying a guy you wouldn't know whether the guy was right for her either. Her sexuality has nothing for your love for her and it has nothing to do with her love for you. Accept it and get over it. No one picked your decision when you chose your husband so don't choode hers.

It may not be what she really wants but even in a straight relationship we sometimes find ourselves in relationships that we are unsure of. We either get there because we don't know how or can't say no; or perhaps because we want a reaction. Just love you daughter and support and trust her. Treat this relationship just like it is any other relationship she might have been in during the past. Love her and trust that before a commitment is made that she will work out for herself it this is really what she wants or not. Sometimes we have to try things out before we realize that is not really what we wanted after all; and then sometimes we find it is truly where we feel happiest.

It is nice to see parents that want to support there daughter. If your daughter is happy with her partner then that should let you know she has found the one she would love to be with for the rest of her life.

here's a thought try having her and her lover stay over some weekend and let them stay in the same room if they over 18. also check out an organization called PFLAG(parents and friends of lesbians and gays) they have many ideas too. If it's what she wants it is probally ok and i suspect from reading your comment there might be a part way back in your mind that you wish she didn't want this...but it's like all things in life you just gotta be there for your kids and your friends but they gotta live life themselves and if they fall we just hold them and help them pick up the pieces and help them move on ... but if we made the choices for them all the mistakes would be our fault and hell we make enough mistakes concerning our own lives we really shouldn't "fix" other's lives.

Sounds like you're in a bit of a turmoil. Trust her to make her own decisions, and support her. I'd say you were almost there just because you asked the question.

Good luck to your daughter and her partner.

If it wasn't what she wanted then I don't think that she would be doing it. You just need to let her know that you support any decision that she makes and that you will back her up. Treat it as if she was with a guy.

because we love our kids without condition, we can come to terms with anything i suspect.
what kind of parents would we be if we taught our kids that we'd only love them if they acted in a certain way or said certain things??
why stop being proud of her just because she's gay?
i admit i have no experience in this but if one of mine told me they were gay, i can be sure i would except it before I'd lose them.
this doesn't mean you have to encourage her.
be honest, tell her how you feel but tell her you love her no matter what and you'll always, always be there for her.
she will decide for herself if it's right or wrong.
you can't force her, just love her, ther are lots of help lines out ther if you need support. they aren't just for gay and leabians but for there families too.
