I would let him dye his hair, probably right away. That is easily reversible. I would ask him to think long and hard about the eyebrow, and I would have to think long and hard as well.

Dye his hair, for sure.

Hair dye might make him look stupid, but it can't cause any significant health problems or lasting damage.

Piercings, on the other hand, can cause all sorts of trouble if not done and cared for properly. If he wants to do it, he can do it when he's of legal age and can take full responsibility for himself.

(I'm a 34 year old Mom of two, with pink-streaked hair and 8 piercings. And my husband had an eyebrow ring, but took it out a few years ago.)

I'm not aure if I would allow either. But if you must pick, I'd say dye his hair. Piercing his eyebrow may give your son a wild impression and show poor parenting (not saying that I do not approve of your parenting). As for dyeing your hair, many people do that of all ages.

How old a teen are we talking - 16 and up then sit down and talk to him about the pros and cons and let him make his own decision - the question I asked my son when this came up was one, why do you want to do this - is it for you or are you trying to fit in with a group and I told him that if it was for himself that he felt it would be a good look for him fine but if he was doing it to fit in he might want to re-think it and see if he really feels like this is how he wants to look - he ended up with the hair dyed and one ear pierced - he is now 28 and the hair is a normal color and his ear has grown closed and he is an asst manager at a fine retail store in New York and an up and coming professional - so you can see it was not a fatal situation! :-) However, if he is under 16 tell him when he gets to be 16 you will consider letting him make that sort of decision but for now you feel like you need to be the parent and he the child for a bit longer - and assure him his turn will come! Good Luck and God Bless!

eybrow, no doubt about it. if you were to go some where formal and you wanted him to look half way decent you can have him put a clear post in but if he was to dye his hair what r u goin to make him do? wear a hat? and if he doesn't like his eyebrow ring he can take it out. if he dyes his hair he has to wait for it to grow out. and dying hair is alot of maintenance if you want it to look normal

There's nothing wrong with body piercings and/or dyed hair. Piercings grow up and dyed hair fades and 'grows out'... my point is neither are permanent if you don't want them to be. For that reason, I would allow both.

allow it. if piercing his eyebrow and getting his hair dyed are the biggest things your teenage son has given you to worry about consider yourself lucky.

honestly i would allow him to dye his hair, both sound like a trend; the piercing can lead to infection, dying his hair wont lead to any physical illness, though it could lead to future psychological events (aka being "labeled" at school) but that is apart of growing up similar to the current decisions
