All year we're sold on the idea that we have the two best goal tending prospects outside the NHL.

What does the Boy Genius do? He goes and trades Raask for Andrew Raycroft who at best could be described as a marginal goalie at best.

The funny thing is Juniour will be long gone after we're still regretting this one.

No wonder we are the laughingstock of the league.

BAH!!!!

Hard to believe that trade is a long term winner. However Raycroft has played in the NHL and its always a crap shot with young goalies in the NHL. So going for someone who has done it should pay off. Plus still have a top prospect.

It's a win/win situation for the leafs. Raask will not be even close to be playing in the NHL for at least two years, you guys have Justin Pogge, J.S Aubin and Tellqvist right now add in Raycroft with that.

Adding a proven number one goalie who WILL be the leafs starting goalie barring any injuries doesn't make you guys the laughing stock of the league...Going out and getting another 35+year old goalie would be.

I hope you leaf fans know that the cup is AT LEAST five years away from even a serious consideration for you guys. Put up with the re-building stage, give Raycroft a chance.

As much as I hate the Leafs, I personally like this move much more than what the Canucks did. Luongo doesn't seem to happy about being in Vancouver, which will me he'll play for himself or he won't play at all.
Raycroft I'm sure will like to remain a leaf for a long time, Luongo will probably only be with the nucks for this coming season, then back to the south for him.

John Ferguson Jr. is sniffin the same thing that previous general managers have been sniffin for years, and that is the ghost of Harold Ballard. The leafs sucked in harold's era and he is making sure that they do the same lame brained things that he would do in the past as the owner.

the Leafs have not had a good draft in years and it seems that they are only getting older, it is time to get rid of some of the old farts that play in Toronto. If Toronto ever hopes to win the cup sometime in the next 40 years they are unfortunately going to have to go through a rebuilding process-- whoops the last 40 years have been a rebuilding process for them. Some one has to be the laughing stock of the league and it might as well be -----
