Who is up for it? It seems obvious to me that humanity cannot continue down the current path and survive very long into the future. Nuclear proliferation, environmental destruction, overpopulation, worship of money above all else....There are many factors stacked against us. I believe that there are ways that we can live on this planet in a sustainable way, but I think those ways will require a serious change in the way the vast majority of people think. A revolution of the mind. I am wondering who out there holds similar beliefs. I am also very interested in any ideas about how to popularize such a notion, and get governments and other major organizations involved in a serious discussion about things that really matter.

The first four answers to this question are not what I was hoping for, but it is a good point that action needs to be taken. I think that changing minds is the most powerful action that could be taken. Here is one suggestion that I just though of. What if people who had serious concerns about the future of humanity all asked similar questions on this site, and others, in all categories? People could also post links to sites and information that they see as relevant to the cause of creating a new awareness. One author that I can recommend as having some interesting ideas about the state of humanity and our future is Daniel Quinn.

You are one of the forward thinkers of our generation and we need more like you. You would be surprised at how many others share your beliefs. Join an environmental group and plant a few trees in your neighbourhood and go from there. do what you can and the rest will follow. Thankyou!
