Do you like to read poetry? Why or why not?

I sometimes like to read poetry, but it feels like a waste of time. It's occasionally intellectually satisfying trying to tease hidden meanings out of a particular phrase or how a phrase is phrased, but more often I'd prefer dealing with ideas that are in the open. Call me lazy, but I like my literature simpler than the overly complex structures of poetry.

yes, poetry sets a mood it tells a story it sends pain love fear, etc. poetry can express so much with just a few words poetry is also found in songs to day in fact all to a degree.

YES I LIKE TO READ POETRY. BECAUSE MOST POETRY HAS A MEANING OR IS TRYING TO TELL A STORY. POETRY IS JUST BEAUTIFUL TO READ.

well i dont like to read poetry because it is to hard for me to get some of it but i like to write it because poetry helps me let go of stress and release my feelings.

Yes, I like the imagery. Good poetry especially. Seven meanings in everything. Whitman, Rumi, Emerson are good

ya .. i like to read poetry .. i like beautiful poetry .. like the poem which has a meaning .. not just meaningless poem widout ne sense but only rhyming words .. the poem shud also please the ears .. a poem is supposed to be a thing which pleases the ears and simultaneuosly has some meaning ..
