Zack De La Rocha's (vocals) father was an artist in L.A.. Apparently he thought that being an artist was easier than it really was, like if you painted something, someone would just buy it and you supported your family like that. He suffered a mental breakdown and burned about 60% of his artwork. The song is about the breakdown Zack's father suffered and his turning to devout christianity to solve his problems. The sad part is, that he forced Zack to take part in the destroying of his art and his newfound religion.
