not really, I'm a programmer that do not type fast ! 4 many reasons when i program i have to make sure everything is consistent : a lot if not all programming languages are case sensitive. i find that when i type fast i mix letters places a lot of the time and not only that some punctuation, if your gonna be a programmer you are going to have to learn to slow down or spend the majority of your time troubleshooting problems in your code!

It doesn't make you a more knowledgeable programmer as good programming boils down to knowing fundamental code and proper syntax. However if you've mastered the basics of the language in which you are programming it helps make you a faster programmer. Thus it is one less thing to woory about.

NO not at all, its how you perceive it, you see fast programmers and think they are better than you are...no i dont think so. programming is all about how you script out your code not how fast you type, i know of finger peckers that have implemented hand coded business solutions.
The only benefit i know of would come from a certain type of stealthy programming that places a heavy emphasis on time because of the nature of its cause...if you know what i mean ;)

not really. even if you are a good typist, programming code usually makes use of lots of special characters { } ; : > < $ so that slows you down anyway.

Not at all..... Maybe for writing the code or something like that,
but is always the same, the only thing that changes is that is faster.

hmmm... I guess but then again that's not always true.
Some programmers can achieve the same if not better results with less lines of code.
It's all about who is writing it and how they do it ;)
