I am using Firefox. I just downloaded the 1.7 version; that didn't seem to help. I can't clear the download history-- I get the hourglass and the program doesn't respond. Anyone got any good ideas?

How fast is your connection to the internet, that may be part of the problem. Try cleaning up the system like the history, temporary internet files and cookies. If that fails, check to see if you have your cd's for your laptop. Perhaps you may want to format the hard drive and install a fresh copy of windows. Make sure you back up all of your important files. Prior to installing windows check to see if you have your drivers for your pc.

I like to clean my system with a program called Evidence Eliminator. After I run that on my system, it's so much faster, and it clears all the cookies, histories, etc. It's pretty customizable too. You can dl it off Kazaa. Everyone I tell about it and uses it likes the program alot.

Evidence Eliminator is a unique tool to:

Clear your cache and cookies.
Shred contents of all computer and Internet. history files, including the recycle bin.
Clean Email activity on demand.
Delete files and programs you downloaded, erase the temporary internet file folder.
Eliminate creditcard details and other personal information permanently.
Protect your identity and privacy, clean your system from all this data cluttering your pc, slowing down your system's performance - Use Evidence Eliminator.
Trust Evidence eliminator to leave you with a faster and safer pc.

Evidence Eliminator really does clean out areas of Windows the other Internet history erasers and hard drive cleaners don't. Have confidence knowing you're using the original and only secure hard drive cleaning program that has even been proven to defeat all known forensic analysis software!

Your computer will be safe and the hard disk will be clean, almost like new, after you install evidence eliminator.

Yes.. dont use fire fox honestly its bad for giving viruses use bearshare or limewire. mostly bearshare. not kazza either. www.bearshare.com. right now u need to save as much as you can to a disk or cd and dvd music videos and even data files on your cpu pictures and then get a blank cd to put in your drive and go to all programs, system recovery create a recovery cd and take it out then restart your cpu hit f11 to reboot and fully restore your system to a date before it started to mess up then use the disks to help cpuu recover. load all yur music pics vids data back on and get bearshare there ya go virus free and runnin smooth. if this still dont help then go to control panell performance & maintence and free up space on hard drive, may have to go to rearrange items on hard drive and then click on defragment. your cpu should run real good then. if not then u got a piece of crap that needs thrown out. by tha way that one guy is a bot just trying to advertize they are in yahoo answers ive seen a lot of them.
