Sure they've been world champions, but they didn't play as well as we all expected in the first round, sure they qualified 1st but now you saw why, Germany beated the living crap outta Sweeden, meaning, they weren't that good, and they tied with the English. So.. will they go far? or will tomorrow Ecuador might surprise them?

I think England is overrated, and i'm hoping they lose in their next game.

If Rooney were 100% and Owen were as well, they would be a lot more dangerous than they have been. Without those strikers playing at their best, England are still good enough to make it to the quarters, and maybe even the semis, but they don't have enough scoring punch to win the Cup this year. Also, I think their manager's tactics and roster choices haven't properly exploited the depth of talent that the English have, nor has he been consistant in having them perform at their best game in and game out.

While you can never say never, I just don't see how England can win it all except if Brazil were to get upset on their side of the bracket.

Ecuador is not going to suprise them because England will be ready for them. Even without Micheal Owen the star-studded England team will be ready. They have one of the best forwards in the World Cup in Wayne Rooney and a great set of mids with David Beckham, Frank Lampard, David Gerrard, and Joe Cole it's not even funny. They may not have played their best in group play but they will be ready to perform tomorrow.

England is a great team. On their day, they can beat hell out of any team. But, I think Sven Goran Erikksonheavily relies on his midfield. And this may be one of the weaknessess. But, against Ecuador they might get an early goal or a late one or extra time or sudden death or whatever but England is gonna get to the quater-finals

I think it will be a hard-fought game, with England just winning it in the end. The problem is England is that though they have great talented individual players, they are not gelled as a team unlike Germany whose squad is not full of stars. This is probably because of Sven, England needs a better manager.

England can be Dangerous In soccer sometimes, Every team can be, Actually when its the round of 16th,quaters finals, semi, the finals, etc. Everyteam is Aggressive in can play better then they did in group stages (can) however i dont have predictions about tomorows game yet, maybe i'll get more reasearch then edit my post and tell you who (might) win

I did a little a research, i still cant really tell who will win but both team performances might be good/great

You cannot compare one football match against one team with another match against another team. Even you cannot compare matches against the same team because temperaments, conditions, situations, tactics, match play etc differs in each match. If England and Sweden were to play against each other again, surely the result would be different.

Having said that, you cannot say that Sweden weren't good when they played against Germany and that they were good when they managed a tied game against England. They just didn't have the chances and luck against Germany as they did against England.

England would be a dangerous team if they play like in the first against Sweden.

Ok sweetheart the last time England was Champion, its was 40 years ago. Now that owen is injured, they are dangerous but Germany, Argentina and Spain, are more dangerous, becouse they have better teams, thats my opinion anyway.

Mexico played like drunken burros for the 1st stage, today they played arguably the best game of anybody so far in the Cup, nearly knocked off the heavily favored Argies!

Cream rises, sh*t sinks. England has always been "cream." they will play much better now that instant elimination is on the line here.......
