You can create a fun time anywhere you go. My first suggestion is to browse the yellow pages... Find hobby shops (often they'll have classes or shows), find local clubs (possibly you can find a comedy club), etc.
If worse comes to worse and no outside entertainment exists, there's always a Netflix subscription.

Go to your local bookstore and look for any books on daytrips. You'll discover all kinds of fun/unusual things to do.
