Lysol used to make a product called "Lysol Sanitizing Bleach"; as I recall, it was a white
granular powder that you could use when washing clothes to sanitize them. It gave towels
and sheets a fresh smell. Lysol apparently stopped making it over a decade ago and I have
looked ever since for a replacement; any thoughts?

you can use any kind of liquid disinfectant in the laundry. I prefer Lysol liquid disinfectant . I just add a 1/4 cup to my laundry and you don't have to worry about it bleaching out your clothes. However I wouldn't use much and I wouldn't mix it or any other disinfectant with bleach. But if you are washing whites I'd just use regular bleach and they have come out with so many different smelling Bleaches which Naturally disinfect as it cleans.

You could try a good oxygen cleaner. Not only does it sanitize and freshen, but it's also a great laundry additive to brighten without fading. I use it in every load of laundry, and for getting stains off of just about everything from clothing and furniture.

I think 20 mule Team Borax is a great all around product. It is a old respected all around powder that has too many uses to list.
