If I even say "country" and "music" in the same sentence, people spaz...
And what I mean by "people" is kids at my school.

I think the reason all the kids are spazzing out is because nowadays kids want to fit in with the in crowd and it SEEMS that means the drug or alcohol crowd, which favors the rock or metal music. I don't think that is a good crowd to be in. Drugs and alcohol lead to self destruction in some form or another and should be LEFT ALONE. I am sure there are others if you look that will feel the same as you do. COUNTRY MUSIC IS THE BEST.

I personally can find a song i like in all genres even if they are not my favorite. But i think the reason people do that is because they think it's "uncool" or whatever. Most are afraid to even try it because they are afraid that they will like it (and be "uncool").
The point is, its their problem, not yours so don't worry about it.

country is the only genre I listen to. but my dad is a country western dance instructor.

i think they haven't been exposed to enough of it and are just going by stereotypes. there are country songs for everyone, it's not just for the hillbilly types
