can you use a laptop just for the monitor?
i just moved and i think some of my stuff must have shifted in the U-Haul, and my monitor doesn’t work anymore... i have a laptop, and was wondering if it could be used just for the monitor, until i can get a cheapy one once i find a job...

hehe, never mind... i guess it's always a good idea to check that the power cord is plugged in...lol... you can still answer tho, if you want...

There is no way to connect your laptop to your other computer's graphics port.

At this point, many of your friends have replaced their original comptuer and monitor. They probably have the old one sitting in the attic or garage. Just ask around, you can probably borrow one.

A used monitor may be worth about $25. A dead monitor costs about $10 to throw away, so some companies would be thrilled to give one away if is still functional.

Yeah, supplying power to the monitor is always a good idea.
