If your dream feels real then your soul is awaking.
When you learn to having waking dreams then you realise them.
A waking dream is one where you have control of yourself in your dream and are not just along for the ride as a spectator.
As a child you have nightmares (due to a lack of wisdom) as you get older you realise this and they typically subside, as you mature and especially if you become self aware you will also become self aware in your dreams. This is one place you can change your life patterns/problems (that is if you recognize them wisdom is required) in fact this is one of the best places to change your life because dreams are much better connected to your "source" or your soul, your spirit and all that exists. So that is the really amazing thing, realise yourself and live your dream for eternity. Do you hear?

I think most people would look at this question wrong. Most people would say because surreal things happen in dreams, but how do you judge surreal if you are just made up? a figment of someone elses imagination. If you are in fact an altered reality, but think everything is normal. Another point would be that dreams can seem totally real. I went through a phase where i walked in my sleep when i would wake up i would be in the exact same spot that i had been in the dream. Most of the time i didnt even think i had been sleep walking until i got to a clock and realized that the time lapses didnt match up. So really you could be dreaming right now.

Ya I think we don't really know that we are dreaming this very moment! great question. When you dream your body reacts as if it is real. Sometimes you wake up sweating and feeling like it was real....or at the end of the day you think about all that you did that day and--at least for me---it seems so dream-like and unreal sometimes. I dunno. i imagine that at the end of life if you look back it will all seem very dream-like. I find dreams so strange and a lot of times funny. I sometimes feel like they contain a message but they're so bizarre I can never decipher anything from them! I've had a recurring dream since childhood about falling. Always I'm falling and trying to hold on to something but there is nothing to hold on to. I've had people tell me it's saying I should let go more in life. To not struggle so much against life. I've had dreams and was aware I was dreaming. I knew that I was in bed dreaming but the dream continued and I could even co-create my dream. hmmm....can't wait to go to sleep now and dream some. lol

I used to wonder about this when I was younger - am I dreaming all this? Or even is someone else dreaming this and I'm just vapor in their mind?
As I've grown older, I've come to the conclusion that if I was dreaming it all, I wouldn't have wrinkles, I'd have anything I wanted and I wouldn't have to work every day.
Now as far as someone else dreaming it all, then I'd have to say it's a great comedy.
I've had dreams of all kinds - falling, flying, climbing mountains, walking in streets or forests. I've even dreamed, knowing I'm dreaming. I've had a very few dreams that came true, but not good ones.
I think dreams help your mind deal with life.

Good question. Have you noticed that your dreams take a life of their own? There are events and episodes that are impossible in real life (such as flying), and you have little control over what direction they take. When you are awake, you make deliberate decisions and have a great deal of control over what you say, do, etc. You can make predictions about cause and effect that are much more accurate than in dreams. So either we have two ways of dreaming or there is an awake state and a dreaming state!

Good question, you might want to look up the string theory about a parallel universe...It might give you an idea about where we go when we dream or even die. The String theory is about a parallel universe sectioned into three strings, the top plain, the middle plane "this is the one we are on " and the bottom plane.. smarter people than I seem to think we drift from plain to plain when we sleep or pass away it would make since our bodies are run on electrical static when this static stops working it has to go some place .. Check it out on the net...

If it was a dream then how do you dream in a dream? Unless, if dreaming in the dream we're in is actually not dreaming, but life. So what happens when you dream in life? It cant be in the dream in the present because they're two different realities. Can you dream that you're dreaming in a dream. That would be odd.

“I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?” - Chuang Tzu
there isn't truly a way to know if we're dreaming or awake, but don't think about that much, it can turn you psycho

We may be dreaming, but there is really no way to prove that we are living. Perhaps everything is a long, long illusion, and death is our "wake up" call.
But, if you think about it, we cannot really have a "dream within a dream". Have dreamed of a dream of a dream? No... I never dreamed that I was dreaming.
To me, dreams are an escape from everything. They are what we desire to be, or have a fear or being. Something we dream nonsense dreams that really have no meaning.
We always (or usually) forget dreams after we dream them, unless they have some significance. Perhaps they are part of our subconcious thoughts...
But we never know.

To me, dreams feel vague and nebulous – nothing like reality at all. Of course, when you're dreaming, your intelligence is pretty vague too; otherwise, you'd know immediately that you were in a dream, since the experience is so different from waking life.
