Maliki's Master Plan
A national reconciliation plan for Iraq calls for a timetable for withdrawal of U.S. troops and, controversially, amnesty for insurgents who attacked American and Iraqi soldiers.
A timetable for withdrawal of occupation troops from Iraq. Amnesty for all insurgents who attacked U.S. and Iraqi military targets. Release of all security detainees from U.S. and Iraqi prisons.
Those sound like the demands of some of the insurgents themselves, and in fact they are. But they're also key clauses of a national reconciliation plan drafted by new Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, who will unveil it Sunday.
Equally contentious from the U.S. point of view is the idea of granting amnesty to insurgents who have attacked and killed American soldiers. That is almost taken as a given by Iraqi negotiators, however.

The draft plan calls for the release of all security detainees being held without charges in the country, estimated at as many as 14,000, going far beyond Maliki's announcement two weeks ago that he would be releasing 2,500 such detainees.

amnesty for insurgents who attacked American and Iraqi soldiers.

Thanks for your well informed and written question. The US should never have bolstered its way into Iraq in the first place. It was ill founded, against World opinion and the UN's wishes. Hans Blix was pleading with Bush for more time to complete his search for WMD's which have since never been found, this war was entirely unnecessary. I'm afraid it's typical of conservative political forces around the World. They railroad and treat their respective electorates with contempt and are divisive and uncaring. Bush is the worst of them all and should be impeached and tried as a war criminal. Our leaders here in Australia are almost as bad and are falling over themselves to get into bed with Bush and his one eyed crazy policies. Democracy in both our countries is the casualty and coming under increasing threat from are almost fascist leaders. I am sorry about the American soldiers and I am surprised that there isn't more of a back lash in the US over this unwarranted sacrifice of good people for nothing. Regards Jules.

to quote the speech from Ron Paul interior the hyperlink decrease than: "What if some day it dawns on us that dropping over 5,000 American militia workers interior the midsection East in view that 9/11 isn't a honest commerce off for the lack of ability of almost 3,000 American civilians, no be counted how many Iraqi, Pakistani and Afghan particularly everyone seems to be killed or displaced? What if occupying international locations like Iraq and Afghanistan and bombing Pakistan is rapidly with reference to the hatred directed in the direction of us? .......What whether it is finally realised that warfare and militia spending is often unfavorable to the economic device? What if all wartime spending is paid for during the deceitful and evil technique of inflating and borrowing? .......What if the american human beings wakened and understood that the good 'motives' for going to warfare are frequently per LIES and promoted by warfare propaganda with a view to serve particular pastimes? .......What if Obama has no objective of leaving Iraq? What if a militia draft is being planned for, for the wars which will unfold if our remote places coverage isn't replaced? What if the american human beings discovered the fact, that our remote places coverage has no longer something to do with national secure practices, and that it by no ability differences from one administration to the subsequent? What if warfare and training for warfare is a racket, serving the particular interest? What if Christianity unquestionably teaches PEACE, and not 'preventative' wars of agression? What if international kinfolk is got here across to be greater ideal to bombs and bribes in conserving united states of america of america?......" Now it is a real American Patriot! As for my own opinion, the warfare for Iraq became already planned and the particular interest communities have been basically fishing around for an excuse to attack. it may by no ability have occurred, and has been a tragic and poor waste of existence.

First things first...this is not just a Republican war.... and we all are paying for it.
Second, where did you get such information?.... I do not see any sources listed for something that will not be released until Sunday!
Third, what I have seen on the news and read, those insurgents that will be released and offered amnesty are those that have NOT committed any killings....
I would like to see where this information is coming from....

As a republican, I am not too happy with Iraq's new plan. I would pull all the troops out and proceed to bomb the entire MidEast into a glassy desert and then get some people in this country and start re-education camps for the enemies of the USA.

Well of course they are ok with this!
Its ONLY money and their FIRST priority
was to help the Iraqi people get freedom, right!
So what if our military is being attacked,
its why they volunteered...
Anyone who shoots at Americans should
be granted amnesty, the republicans will agree.
Besides...
Tony Snow & Bush said our military deaths
are just numbers anyways...
and the republicans always
agree with Lord Bush...

They're okay with it as long as oil is flowing freely out of the region.... You have to remember that if it was a non oil producing country, we wouldn't be over there in the first place... Besides the huge contracts being given to Haliburton, everything else to them is way down the list in priority...

If we leave there will be one country consisting of Iraq, Iran, and syria, Bush will still call the shots or we will have new elections. Also Isreal will be in an atomic war. Not going to happen.
