I live in Melbourne, Australia which is a fairly big and international city - but not to the level of NY! I have also travelled alot and come from England so have spent alot of time in London and the UK. I have American friends but have never visited and have always been really curious about NY. I love big cities!
Whats everyday life like for you? What do you do there for work & recreation? What part of NY are you from and what's your sub-culture like? What is the general culture there - friendly or aggressive? Some NY traditions etc..?

I used to live in New York. All I can said is: It is a good place to visit, but not to live there. I moved out from New York 20 years ago.
If you have friend live there, you should visit it some day.
