My youngest daughter just went through this and I went through it with my oldest. They are ready to transition to real food. Start out with oatmeal, different kinds of pasta, yogurt, etc. Food with texture is more than likely what she is looking for. Try a bowl of pasta (cut up very small) and you'll see your loving baby back.
Good Luck.

If you have given the child table foods, this is probably the reason! At this age they start to try to copy the parents. I have 3 kids and went through this also, so i took them off of the baby foods, and started to give them table foods. But be sure not to give them greasy foods, or hard foods they will choke on. For vegetables, make sure they are cooked and soft. Make sure fruits like bananas are cut small, etc..... The child is almost a year anyways, so let them have the good stuff! Just make sure they get lots of milk!

My kids started refusing anything that came out of a jar or a baby food package when they were eight months old, and there was no looking back. (They'd been toying with table foods since they were six months, anyway, so it wasn't really a big leap.) I figure they were ready and eager to eat what we were eating. And it sure makes life easier to only have to prepare a single meal!
Many, many kids don't like the texture of Level 2 or Level 3 baby foods. After they do purees and stuff like Cheerios, they'd just rather move on to real, whole foods.

My daughter did the exact same thing. I think at first when they start eating it, their taste buds aren't fully developed and they don't really taste it, so they eat it and after a while once their taste buds come alive, they realize they don't like it. My daugther got to the point where the only baby food I could get in her was sweet potatoes, she literally turned orange !! It was crazy looking.
I would say if she's 10 months old it is probably okay to give soft table foods like mashed potatoes and things like that. If you give her something she hasn't had yet, don't introduce anything else new for three days, that way you know what she may be allergic to if something pops up.
Good Luck, my daughter is 3 and is still super picky !!

First did you start her on a new stage of baby food like go to a 2 or 3? Because maybe it's the texture or have you given her table food once you give thm table food they stop wanting the baby food (taste baby food and you will learn why). Another thought is, is she taking more formula or breast milk then usual?
Good Luck

I think that if you were giving her table food, I would keep up with it. Nutritionally, she is still doing okay on breastmilk or formula but she is definetley old enough to be eating table foods at this point.
My 10 month old has also recently begun shunning babyfood. I think it's a normal stage. She's ready for the real stuff

Is she eating anything at all? A good friend of mines little boy refused to eat anything starting around 11 or 12 months of age. He's 3 1/2 now and still refuses to eat. The doctors are not sure why he does this, but she has to give him prescription juice that has all the calories and nutrion in it that he needs to grow. He drinks just fine, it is only eating that he refuses to do.

She probably is ready to feed herself. Try some finger foods - cheerios, crackers, bread - and keep offering the baby food and let her make a mess trying to feed that to herself, too. If you're worried about nutrition, call your nurse about a vitamin.
Good luck! Hey, at least it's hot out & you can "hose her off" after she covers herself in baby carrots! :) j/k

Will she feed herself? Sometimes, when babies are ready to do things on their own, they will refuse help. Try giving her some Cheerios or cut up pieces of soft food. She might just be trying to assert her independence and start doing it on her own! Good Luck!!!

Well since you already gave her table food you can start making your own baby food using a blender. Just make sure she gets plenty of different vegetables, proteins and fruits so she's getting all of her vitamins.
