Is there a website I can visit where I can see pictures of North American birds, and listen to their songs???
I would like to be able to identify them by sound.

The National Wildlife Federation's eNature site has pretty good pages with pictures and information about almost all North American birds and mammals (their insect pages leave something to be desired, but they are improving).

Here's their homepage http://www.enature.com/home/

And here's the beginning of their bird section http://www.enature.com/fieldguides/intermediate.asp?curGroupID=1

Unfortunately, they don't include sounds.

This site however, http://www.naturesongs.com/birds.html does. But it can be more than a little difficult to navigate. If you're looking for the call of a specific bird, and you know the classification of that bird it's not bad.

This site http://sirismm.si.edu/testperl/nasongkey.pl can give you something to go on if you have heard the call and are wondering what it is.

This site gives some good identification tips, but doesn't include sounds for every bird http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/Infocenter/infocenter.html

That's great! It's actually much more effective to identify them by sound than by sight. You'll hear them before you see them. I can only do it by sight. Anyway....to answer the question, I am sure there has to be a website. I've found several for owls, I like listening to owl calls, so there has to be one at least, if not several for songbirds or North American birds. Try going to www.dogpile.com , it's a search engine, and type in "bird songs". You should get at least a few good hits
