Did anyone get as much joy out of seeing Michigan St. plant that flag on the center of the field or seeing them get robbed by "The Push." Sure they are one of the top teams of all time, but they haven't done anything for 20 years, their last nat'l championship was 18 years ago, yet they have the most lucrative television contract, and I am forced to watch them suck it up with a new coach EVERY saturday on ABC.

Unless you live in South Bend I don't know how you couldn't hate them. During last season all you heard was about fata$$ Charlie Weiss taking Quinn and how great they would be together. And then they got the BCS bowl bid over Oregon which was complete BS since Oregon was ranked higher than Notre Dame. Oregon might have given Ohio State some competition. Haha.

And don't even get me started on that SheMale Jeff Samardzija....

I would say that the only reason anyone would hate Notre Dame, much less any other sports team/university is jealousy or ignorance. Why do people hate the Yankees or Duke? Because they're better than their teams! Reading the question, it seems that you're jealous/annoyed that despite not having had much recent success, Notre Dame still gets tons of national attention. It really says a lot about your character if you can take joy in seeing another team lose, not because you like the team that beat them or because your team gains an advantage from their loss, but simply because you 'hate' them. This is a very small-minded view about any topic, and I hope that you can mature enough to grow out of it someday. Maybe you have a legitimate reason for not liking ND, like, not getting in there, or being a Navy fan, but other than that, it's really childish to hate a school, especially one that has come so far and done so much to empower and educate various marginalized groups in America such as Irish, Catholics, blacks, Latinos, and women.

i tell you why i dont like notre dame frist of all they think everything is centers around them like there the best lol thats a joke sorry. second of all there are some awsome teams around that cant get tv time but norte dame is on everydamn saturday even when they can only win three are four games a year . which is not far. and the players act like they are better then any other player in the country kinda like usc players. so what i like to see is notre dame lose every game this year and if they go 0-11 or 0-12 they still be on tv go michigan kick there a@@ this year

Cause they are cathlic and religion plays a big part in everything.
Not that most of the players are anymore, but I would say it has somethin to do with it. Already Been Countedout can keep em, get some cable and the sports package so you can watch any game you want. I know it seems expensive at first, but they usually have payment plans, and compared to goin to the games(impossible) it is a feasable cost.

let notre dame play in the sec, the acc, or the big 10 or a in conference for that matter then they would be exposed for being a joke not to mention them being independent is a load of crap, Oregon should should passed them in the BCS and played Ohio State, cause they only had one loss and Nortre dame had two losses, In other words now these days Notre Dame is overatted.

I don't hate them... but I do hate when the media, and the fans give unjust praise !!! Whats all the fuss about !!! They went 9-3 last year for God's sake... So did Louisville, Boston College, Toledo, Nevada, Miami, Texas Tech, Florida and Auburn... and you don't here them being uplifted and given unearned credit... my point is that the Irish had a good year last year... nothing more... I wish everybody would calm down...

Charlie Weis may be a fat ***, but he was one of the architects of three superbowls. And last year he outcoached a lot of people to bring Notre Dame back into the ranks. To agree with what was said earlier, you either love them or hate them.

I don't think you have to love them or hate them. I think its a shame that they consistently cheat more deserving teams out of big bowl games, but other than that I don't care much about them. They have been largely irrelevent in the past 15 years. I think it's amazing someone would give them a TV deal like that too.

I was born in IN and have had numerous family members attend ND (I won't, sadly) but I guess you can understand hatred. Like some could hate Duke B-Ball or Texas, well everything. It all stems down from the Yankees, Cowboys, Red Wings and Lakers; hate 'em or ya love 'em.

My father is a huge ND fan but I stopped liking them around 1997 when I met my future wife who is a Boston College alum. They do have an arrogance but I think Charlie Weis will get them back to prominence.
