It may not be rare, but I don't hear a lot of people calling Gabriel when we go to the park, that is what we named our son. If the next one is a girl she will be Jordyn Mackenzie Lynn and if it is another boy he will be Jackson Lawrence. I liked the name Caleb but someone I know named his son that a couple years before. I don't hear Lydia or Malikai that often, his other children's names, all nice if you ask me. A neighbour named her daughter Evelyn and her son Marlon, I love the name Evelyn, it is an old name but I think it sounds pretty and very feminine.

For girls: N'Dasia, D'Zhona, Precious, Jasma, (names of kids I had in class...never seen or heard of them before or since)
also...my name is pretty rare: Maren
or one from a fairy tale about a sea nymph who loved the sun and so she jumped out of the water and became a sunflower - her name was Clytie. A couple others: Taizu, Tamsyn
For boys: Jasper, Damian, Dover, Hanz, Kezeli (ex bf, but still a totally cool name...nickname is Kez)

You're ready for rare?

For a boy:

1) Xerxes (means 'king' in Persian)
2) Chavez (means 'dream maker' in Spanish)
3) Umberto (means 'colour of earth' in Italian)
4) Bruis (means 'mansion' in Celtic or Gaelic)
5) Virote (means 'power' in Thai)

For a girl:

1) Ojal (means 'vision' in Hindi)
2) Wauna (means 'singing snow goose' in a Native American language)
3) Accalia (a mythical Greek name)
4) Edalene (means 'noble, king' in Celtic or Gaelic)
5) Iman (means 'faith' in some African language)

Hope it helps.

Check out lists of foreign names.

Another idea would be to combine yours and your partner's names to make something pretty. I thought of combining my grandmothers' names for my next baby if it is a girl: Helena +Anita would be Helenita or Anilena.
