Not necessarily. If a person reacts to the name of Jesus or cannot declare him as Lord due to some resistance, that could be demon possession. If it's a christian that shows some resistance then it's not possession but demonisation. Throwing up can mean anything, best check that the person is not simply sick, and if they show any manifestations that are just not ordinary it could be mental illness or they really are demonised or possessed. The real test is if they react when Jesus' name is mentioned. They may have unnatural strength, speak in a very different voice, show disgust at the name of Jesus, have strange actions when they are afflicated by a demon, but the Jesus' name test is the real test. As for tongues, no, they are definitely NOT a sure sign of demon possession - if it is of God, the same test applies, the person will be able to declare Jesus as Lord. If it is not of God but of an evil spirit, then the person will not be able to declare Jesus as Lord. Sometimes christians with spiritual discernment (a spiritual gift) can tell what the source of the tongue is. A lot of conservative christians will believe that tongues are of the devil, or psychologically induced, or the result of peer pressure, etc. but most of the time it isn't - it's real, and of God, and it's in the bible (1 Corinthians 12-14, Acts in various places). A lot of criticism comes from people who haven't really come across it before, or do not operate in it and have no idea what it's really like. It's not their fault, it's just what they've been taught to believe from their church's belief. but an honest look at the bible shows it's for today, for christians to possibly receive, and of the Holy Spirit, God's spirit. And a gift should be received with open arms.

Honestly, i am Pentecostal. People at the church taht I attend speak in tongues. It is a gift from God that all receive once they turn their life over to the Lord. The ability to speak in tongues is always there. Most people hinder the Holy Spirit from coming forth because they do not become one with God while praising and worshiping also in prayer. They are to interested in what is going on around them. When you are spiritually ready , He will come forth and you will be greatly blessed. I have seen people vomit while being prayed over many times. It doesn't mean that they are possessed or anything like that. As far as someone doing this while speaking in tongues, it could happen. Maybe this person has something hindering them in their life from reaching God the way that they should, God could manifest the problem or hinderance into this and make them bring it forth...hence the vomit. That is what happens. I suggest that if you want further information....find a pentecostal church and go and talk to the Pastor during the week day and explain everything. I promise he will have an answer for you.. :)

you dont realy give enough details to be able to answer your question, But I'll speak from personal experiance.

just becuase you are religiously affiliated with the christian church it doesnt mean you're stopping anything. True faith is a rarity in people. as much as the christians want to claim that they are the holders of light and judgement, its a crock of ****! Demonic possession is rare anyway, and unless you were goofing off where you shouldnt be, your chances of getting demonicaly posessed are extreemly low.
Most demons look for people who are mentaly weak and physicaly strong. There are exeptions, but that is my experiance for the majority of demonic possession. a couple have vomited, I cant say that they spoke in toungues, they mostly mumbled. a couple that did talk, knew things that they should have never known, some stare at you in a bestial predatory stare thats meant to throw your game off.

My advice to you if it happens arround you again is to isolate the person! dont let them leave, dont let them hurt themselves, dont let them hurt you (two have had ammaising strength, a 120lb female, should not ever be physically able to throw me, 250lb male, 10 feet, not pushed, I mean thrown) there was an instance where the entity leaped from one person into another by physical touch. there isnt much you can do if you dont know what to do.... I know that sounds stupid. just for the most part it will eventually leave.

I guess you are serious. It probably means, he/she has an upset stomach. Tongues are most likely a form of self -induced religious hysteria. Holy Rollers and some other types of religious frenzies even experience orgasms in their fervor.
Fire walkers walk on red hot coals without getting burned...they psych themselves into it. Don't worry about being possessed , just watch what you eat before church..

I don't believe Christians today speak in tongues. I think it was an extraordinary moment experienced by the apostles and some disciples given to them by the Holy Spirit to be able to spread the gospel to everyone. I think those who think they're speaking in tongues are just jabbering and fooling themselves.

If someone in this modern age claims to be "speaking in tongues," they are b.s.-ing you.
Only the apostles were given the gift of speaking in tongues. To help convert others to Christianity more easily, they needed the ability to speak to others in their own languages. God gave them that ability. It was a limited-time thing.

i've certainly seen some pentecosts drooling and jumping up and down on their knees regardless of pain while speaking gibberish. i think delusions can control body and mind to some degree causing these hysteric attacks. so i guess a vomiting person speaking tongues is a distinct possibility.

yes they are. That is a manifestation of possession. Someone who is talking in tongue may not be filled by the holy spirit. What you hear might be the voices of demons
